Tryout Dates, Times, & Location
*Student-athletes should attend all of their designated tryout sessions.
**Tryouts are closed to parents/guardians.
Monday August 14th – 3:30-5:00pm – Meet at Mrs. Willen’s Room
Wednesday August 16th – 3:30-5:00pm – Meet at Mrs. Willen’s Room
During carline, prospective cheerleaders should inform their homeroom teacher that they need to change into their tryout apparel. Immediately following carline, prospective cheerleaders can report to Coach Willen’s room (room 206). They will then be escorted to the Parish Auditorium on days it’s available.
After the squad members have been announced, we will have a cheer camp on campus (provided by NCA) .
The dates, fees (this is separate from the athletic fee), and location for the cheer camp will be provided in the Cheer Parent Letter once the squad is determined.
-Cheerleading season runs from August-End of October.
-What to wear: Comfortable shirt, appropriate undergarments, comfortable athletic/cheer shorts, athletic shoes, socks, no jewelry, hair must be tied up.
-What to bring (optional): Plenty of water and maybe a sweat towel
*New for 17-18:
-Girls may be on the Cheer team and the Girls Basketball team or Cross Country.
-Dual athletes will have to pay an athletic fee for both sports.
-If Cheerleading and running Cross Country, the student-athlete needs to discuss with the coach if they’re going to miss something due to the other sport. The coaches have discretion to any modifications.
-If Cheerleading and playing Basketball, the student-athlete should attend any Basketball related activities first. The coaches have discretion to any modifications.
